Dr. Polyxeni Gablia finished medical school in 1998 at UMF Timisoara in Romania and in 2000 she received recognition of her qualifications from the Hellenic DIKATSA. In 2000 she completed her rural practice at the Health Center of Perama in Crete and in 2001 she started her specialty training in the General Hospital of Rethymno. From 2005 she continued at the Venizelio National Hospital in Heraklion. In 2010 she took the title of her speciality: Head and Neck Surgeon (ENT).

While training Dr. Gablia also worked in the Pediatric Clinic of the General Hospital of Rethymno, the Pulmonary Clinic of the Venizelio General Hospital in Heraklion and the Plastic Surgery Clinic of the St. Savvas Cancer Hospital in Athens.

In 2006, for approximately 6 months, she worked as a private doctor in the towns of Hersonissos and Malia in the prefecture of Heraklion.

Since 2010, she practises medicine at her own private Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery in the town of Rethymno.
